It is important to understand our heritage and identity as Americans.  This class will give students the opportunity to explore the political, economic, social, and cultural elements that have made modern America what it is today.

Grading and Policies:

     30%     Homework/Class work/Participation

Homework: Homework must be presented at the start of class.  Homework will be accepted for half credit if it is one day late.  No homework will be accepted more than one day late.  Homework will be evaluated on a 4 point system: 4=Exemplary, 3=Proficient, 2=Satisfactory, 1=Limited. 

Papers and Projects:  Graded assignments are due at the beginning of the class period.  Students should come to class with assignments printed out.  Late assignments will be deducted as follows: -10 pts. the first day and –5 pts. each day that follows.
