CLASS OF 2005
In an effort to honor students for their creativity and dedication
the Visual Arts Department, beginning in 2005, decided to purchase artwork from graduating seniors. Each year, one exceptional artwork and one photograph will be purchased by the school and put on display throughout the building as a way of honoring and remembering the achievements of the talented students who pass through the Visual Arts Program. The collection is funded through an endowment bequeathed by local citizen and school committee member Edmund Traverso, in honor of his wife Georgina Jill Traverso, a former art teacher. In time, the collection will enhance the visual environment of the school as well as serve as a record of the many students who contributed to the visual arts at Ipswich High School.
