Current Events 2
Modern World History
- Fall 2008
Mr. Ames
As we embark on our last
round of current events, the format will be changing slightly. You will still present a summary of the
article as you’ve been doing, and you will still need to look in the foreign
press. For more, read the directions below.
Directions: In the days prior
to your assigned “current event” presentation, you will need to find an article
in a current (no older than five days) newspaper, news-magazine, or Internet
news source that interests you and you feel is important. The article must be
from a foreign paper – the list is reproduced below – and must take place in a
foreign country. You will need to prepare your presentation in the proper
format prior to the beginning of class. Presentations will be made at the
beginning of each class.
Your presentation will
include the following: 1) What the article is about - a brief summary - and why
it is important to the country in question; 2) A list of three things that you
learned about the country where the event took place; 3) Two specific facts
that you learned; and 4) one question that the article raised for you.
Order of presentations: The
presentation order will follow the class list, beginning with
????.
