My name is Deborah Trevarrow, LICSW and I've served in the position of school social worker at the Winthrop School since January 2001. I am a licensed clinical social worker and received my MSW from Boston College Graduate School of Social Work. The majority of my clinical work experience has been in schools and community mental health centers.

The main purpose and goal of the school social worker is to provide support for social and emotional development and to assist students to function and learn in the school setting. School social workers provide individual or group counseling for students and collaborate and consult with parents and teachers to identify and support a student's learning needs.

School social workers interact with community agencies and provide links to community resources to children and families in need. Please visit the link to community resources for information about support services in the immediate area. In addition, my office library contains books and literature related to social and emotional development, mental health and parenting strategies that may be borrowed if requested.

My office hours follow the school schedule and you may schedule an appointment by phone or email. Please feel free to contact me any time with questions or concerns related to your child.

Sincerely,

Deborah Trevarrow, LICSW
