At IMS, we are extremely proud of our exceptional staff of professionals. Here's a small sample of their achievements.
Boston Magazine, Sept. 2011, has ranked the Ipswich Public Schools as one of the Top 50 school districts in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Congratulations to Karen Langlais, and the Grade 8 Team, for receiving the Facing History and Ourselves: Margot Stern Strom Teaching Award in recognition of her leadership with the eighth grade project, Sharing Our Stories.
Kudos to Scott Jewell, Technology Education Teacher, for being named the 2009 Massachusetts Technology Education Teacher of the Year from MassTEC (Massachusetts Technology Education/Engineering Collaborative) and the 2011 Teacher Excellence Award from ITEEA (International Technology Education/ Engineering Association). Mr. Jewell has also been selected to serve on the Advisory Council for the Next Generation Science Standards.
Congratulations to Pat Previte, Grade 6 Language Arts Teacher! Pat has been selected by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Race to the Top Group. She will work for the next three years on developing model curriculum units and curriculum-embedded performance assessments. The goal is to improve curriculum and assessment practices for students in the Commonwealth.
