“MAKING A DIFFERENCE STARTS HERE”
Goal One: Sustain the Collaborative Teaching Model in all grades.
We will:
Maintain the teaching partner pairs for all core content instruction.
Continue with the trimester assessment blocks.
Prevent the middle school team model from eroding into a junior high model.
Collect data on the model for review
Goal Two: Support Social Studies Instruction
We wil:l
Emphasize the importance and rigor of comprehensive curriculum at the middle school.
Make available time and resources to teachers with additional responsibilities (out of content).
Provide time and resources to those social studies teachers with additional class responsiblities.
Build support for the return of paired social studies instruction in all grades.
Goal Three Develop approaches which address social and survival skills as they relate to adolescents in the middle school.
We will:
Continue to implement and improve the student development fair.
Utilize the Health Curriculum to address issues in this area.
Goal Four Actively encourage a respectful, empathetic, and safe school culture which focuses on decreased bullying and cyberbullying.
We will:
Stress appreciation of differences in gender, income levels, religions, and disabilities.
Enforce the bullying law and its’ implications via discussion, assembly and health curricula.
Encourage students to take an active role in community problem solving activities.
Goal Five Address the challenges of Common Core Standards
We will:
Continue to track and improve MCAS scores and continue with after school tutorial.
Support faculty as they align current Frameworks to new national standards.
Provide time and resources for planning and unit development.
