The Adirondack 2009-2010 Class of 2014 |
|
A letter from the editors:
Dear Reader, We are pleased to announce the Class of 2014 is going to the Adirondacks! During the first week of June 2010, our 8th grade students and staff will travel to the Adirondacks in upstate New York to explore the geology and history of the region. We will get to visit many interesting places, including the Howe Caverns, Ben & Jerry's ice cream, and even go white water rafting! The 8th graders will be learning new concepts in subjects like life science, language arts, and comprehensive health. We will explore new areas of science, such as learning about interactions among the lithosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere have resulted in ongoing evolution of the earth system over geologic time. Not only will this journey be educational, but our students will gain a new level of independence. Being away from home for only the second time in Middle School, the 8th graders will have the opportunity to grow, both as individuals and as a class. We will become more connected and comfortable with our peers, staying overnight in a new state! We will be accommodated by the Georgian Hotel at Lake George, and the Comfort Inn at Lake Placid. Feel free to check out other articles on our website and read more about our exciting trip. Enjoy!
Sincerely, Libby Cornacchio, John Waiswilos, and Ali Bouvier Editors in Chief |
