GUIDANCE PROGRAM
The primary purpose of the Guidance Department is to promote the
educational and social/emotional development of our students.
The staff's goal is to be proactive in working with students.
The counselors assist students on their academic planning
throughout their years at Ipswich High School, culminating with
extensive post-high school planning in the junior and senior
years. The members of the department also help students and
their families to deal with adjustment difficulties and
emotional impediments to the students' academic progress. In
addition, the staff collaborates with teachers and
administrators regarding student progress and concerns as well
as consults with outside agencies. The department's emphasis is
not only helping students who experience difficulties to adjust;
it is also concerned with helping all students to cope with the
normal developmental issues and problems that typically arise in
childhood and adolescence.
The counseling and guidance services at Ipswich High School are provided by a four member department,
including three full time guidance counselors: Jennifer Starrett, Kerri-Lynn
Ciulla, Justine May, Meg Finnegan Middle/High School
psychologist, and Lyndsey Sousa Middle/High School adjustment
counselor. The staff is assisted by Cheryl Scibisz.
