Purpose

The Committee has been formed to create an Ipswich High School Hall of Fame to honor athletes, coaches and persons who have made a substantial contribution to the Ipswich High School Athletic Program in order to recognize and preserve their accomplishments and memories.

Article IX-Nomination and Eligibility

Section 1

It is the intention of the Committee to incorporate guidelines for Hall of Fame eligibility and selection into its bylaws.  Membership in the Hall of Fame is open to these persons who have distinguished himself/herself in the field of athletics and made a significant contribution while a student or coach at Ipswich High School, who displayed sportsmanship and who have brought honor and distinction to Ipswich High School. 

Section 2

To be eligible, Athletes shall have attended and participated at least two (2) years at Ipswich High School and have been part of a class that has graduated at least ten (10) year prior to the nomination for election. Consideration may also be given to outstanding performances during the nominees’ college, amateur and professional athletic career.

Section 3

To be eligible, coaches shall meet the following minimum criteria:

  1. Coached for at least five (5) years at Ipswich High School.
  2. Coached for at least 10 (10) years in their sport.
  3. Be out of coaching for the sport nominated at least one (1) year prior to nomination.

Section 4

To be eligible for selection for the Hall of Fame for meritorious service, individuals must have made a significant contribution to Ipswich High School athletes.

Article VIII-Non-discrimination

Section 1

The Ipswich High School Hall of Fame Committee shall not discriminate in its policies, solicitations or selections on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation or national origin.
