Please be aware of the following upcoming MCAS testing schedules:

           Grade Three:

·         Wednesday, May 14th--Math MCAS  

·         Thursday, May 15th--Math MCAS

          Grade Four:

·         Monday, May 19th--Math MCAS

·         Tuesday, May 20th--Math MCAS

          Grade Five:

·         Monday, May 12th--Math MCAS

·         Tuesday, May 13th--Math MCAS

·         Wednesday, May 21st--Science and Technology MCAS

·         Thursday, May 22nd--Science and Technology MCAS

·         Tuesday, May 27th--Social Studies MCAS

·         Wednesday, May 28th--Social Studies MCAS

The MCAS tests are designed to measure the extent to which students are achieving the learning standards in the Massachusetts curriculum frameworks.  The tests also provide data that helps schools to examine and improve instructional practices and curriculum.  They are extensive assessments and often take up much of the school day.  It is very important that your child be on-time and in attendance on the testing dates.   

 While these tests are important, children should be assured that all anyone can expect from them is to try their best and do the best they can, and not to "fret" too much. You can help by providing encouraging words, a good night’s sleep, and a nourishing breakfast (and again, making sure your children are present and on time!).
